Delete your account

You can delete your BigPlug account and your data at any time. Here is how, and exactly what goes.

The fastest way: in the app

Deleting from inside the app is immediate and does not need us to verify who you are, because you are already signed in.

Open the BigPlug app and go to the Profile tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
Confirm. Your account and data are removed straight away.

If you cannot sign in

Email privacy@mybigplug.com from the email address on your account, with the subject Delete my account, and include the phone number you signed in with.

We will confirm it is you, delete the account, and email you when it is done — within 30 days, and usually within one business day.

What gets deleted

Your profile: name, email, phone number, and profile photo.
Your store, its handle and appearance, and everything you listed.
Product photos and other media you uploaded.
Your messages and notifications.
Your saved bank details.
Your referral records.

What we keep, and why

Records of completed orders and payouts are kept after deletion because Nigerian tax and accounting rules require it, and because they are the record of money that changed hands between real people. Those records are retained for the period the law requires and are not used for anything else.

We also keep a minimal marker that the account existed and was deleted. That is what stops a deleted account being silently recreated by an old sign-in session.

Settle up first

Deletion is refused while you are still owed money or still have work in flight, because deleting those records would destroy the proof that you are owed. The app tells you which of these applies:

Orders in progress — wait until they are delivered and settled.
Money in your wallet — withdraw it to your bank first.
A withdrawal on its way — wait for it to land.
Unclaimed referral earnings — cash them out first.

Once those are clear, deletion goes through. If you are stuck on any of them, email support@mybigplug.com and we will sort it out with you.

This cannot be undone

Deleting is permanent. Your store link stops working, and the handle may become available to someone else. If you want to come back later you would start again from scratch.
